ABOUISHAQ

The heedless one

🔹 Key points of the lecture:

The person who is heedless of the Hereafter:

He lives as if he is immortal, preoccupied with accumulating wealth and pleasures, forgetting that death is near.

A reminder of the reality of this world:

This world is a place of passage, not a permanent abode. Everything in it is fleeting, and a person will be questioned about his lifespan, his wealth, and his deeds.

Repentance and Return:

The sheikh emphasizes that the door of repentance is open, no matter how great the sins, and that heedlessness is more dangerous than the sin itself because it renders the heart dead.

Righteous deeds before it is too late:

The call to utilize one's life in prayer, charity, remembrance of God, and being dutiful to parents before regret becomes useless.

🔹 Purpose:

The lecture is a powerful exhortatory message, the gist of which is:

"Pause for a moment, you heedless one. Don't be distracted by your eternal destiny. Return to God, for death is closer than you think."

🔹 Example 1: The Negligent Merchant

The Sheikh tells the story of a successful merchant who filled the world with wealth and business, but rarely prayed or remembered God.

At one point, he became seriously ill and was close to death.

At that point, he realized that everything he had accumulated would not accompany him to his grave, but would remain for his heirs, while he would be questioned about his deeds.

He felt intense remorse on his deathbed, but it was too late; he had no prayers to perform or rights to repay.

📌 The moral: This world is worthless compared to the moment of death.

🔹 Example 2: The Man Who Cried After Burial

The Sheikh mentioned that some people shed tears when attending a funeral, only to return to laughter and heedlessness an hour later.

A man attended his relative's funeral and cried so much that people thought he had changed forever.

But as soon as he returned home, he sat in front of the television and laughed as if nothing had happened.

📌 The moral: The heedless person is affected for a moment, then quickly returns to his heedlessness, as if he hadn't been admonished by the sight of death.

🔹 The third example: The story of the man who prepared to travel

The sheikh gives the example of a man who wanted to travel:

He packed his bags carefully, gathering clothes, food, money, and everything he needed for his journey.

But he forgot to prepare for his real journey: his journey to the grave.

📌 The moral: The heedless person plans every worldly journey, but forgets to prepare for the eternal journey.

✨ The sheikh always repeats:

"Pause, take it easy, you heedless person, before the Angel of Death comes to you while you haven't prepared your provisions."
